“There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir: We must rise and follow her, When from every hill of flame She calls, and calls each vagabond by name.”
― William Bliss

Hello there! Pick up a cup of tea, grab something sweet, and make yourself at home. I am so glad that you decided to stop by Yarn and Zen for a bit of self care.

Over the next few days I'll be updating this site, adding some content, and connecting to the Yarn and Zen group on Facebook.

Happy October to all y'all! May your day be wonderful and amazing!

7th Annual Author Faire!

“The purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself.” - Albert Camus
Y'all, I am so excited to attend another Author Faire! This one is hosted by the Bullitt County Public Library, and is always a ton of fun. Not only do I get to meet folks that have read my book, it's a great way to network with other creative types.
This year I'll have my illustrator, Laree Wheeler, with me. She is so amazing, and I cannot wait for y'all to meet her!
You can read about the event here. I'll be doing a few promotions the week before, so come on over to my Facebook page to see what kind of goodies I'll be offering!

Have a most wonderful day!

Much love, ~ Kim

A Gentle Awareness

“Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It’s not ‘I love you’ for this or that reason, not ‘I love you if you love me.’ It’s love for no reason, love without an object.” - Ram Dass
One of the first things I read on Facebook this morning was an article from On Being that discussed the art of befriending ourselves. It really struck a note in my heart's song, as that is often the biggest hurdle folks face in their wellness work.
It is my belief that we are, at our core, made of Love. Even those humans that prefer to act out of fear, anger, or rejection have a spark of Love inside their soul.
Today I invite you to look within and search for your inner spark. Take a moment to invite lovingkindness into your whole being. And remember, you are important in this world, and I love you with my entire self.
Grace and ease,
~ Kim
